The Extra-Virgin Olive Oil "Poggio agli Ulivi" has been selected from the Chamber of Commerce of Florence as one of the best extra-virgin olive oil on Tuscany.
It involved 92 producers and, or, properties and 100 samples. The samples, carefully taken by the Chamber of Commerce, were subject to an organoleptic examination for their qualification as extra virgin olive oils. This examination was undertaken by official tasting groups (panels) operating in the various zones, after which the samples were sent to the Florence Chamber of Commerce.
Here they were further examined by a specially convened commission headed by a Chief Taster using the judging chart for oil which in in the process of being approved by the Italian Ministry of Agricoltural Politics.
The tasters judgements were collected by the Chief Taster, tested by a statistical programm eand the total valutation then recorded on a main chart. The samples which clearly passed the examination for extra virgin olive oil and, in addition, were defined according to the regulations of origin, formally qualified for selection and they took part to the 34^ VINITALY Exhibition in the International Exhibition of olive oil and Extra-Virgin olive oil.
